Vicky Martland ( Was Howarth)

What is your favourite memory about Little Lever School?
Home Economics class with Miss Green, doing my practical exam and my scotch egg rolled off my baking tray across the floor !

What were your notable achievements whilst at school?
I left with an ICI award in Science for working really hard in my GCSE and doing extra lessons with Mr Whittaker and Mr James .

What did you go on to do after leaving the school?
I studied childcare and became the deputy manager of a private day nursery before having children. My eldest child has a rare disability so I am now his carer.

What is the best thing about your current role / profession?
Everyday is a new day for learning and educating myself on my son’s illness. I have trained and learnt new skills to become his carer.

What advice would you give to our current students?
Do your best. Life is what you make it. If you choose the wrong path there is always a way back and opportunities are out there for the taking.
